RawFfest - Youth Arts Festival

Information

Information

On this page you'll find information for groups, about accommodation and FAQs.

Arrangements for groups:

Designated leaders

RawFfest is not in loco parentis (that means, in place of a parent) for any of the participants, performers or audience. Group leaders maintain responsibility for their group.

●  Each group needs a designated leader at a ratio of 1:10. So if you are booking 10 or fewer participants, there needs to be one designated leader. If booking 11 to 20 participants, then two designated leaders, and so on.

●  One designated leader can book for the whole group, as long as they have enough other leaders.

●  Designated leaders must be over 21 years. We will liaise with you on safeguarding procedures.

●  There will be one free place for each designated leader who comes with your group. For example, a dance group with 6 performers would need one designated leader So you would have 7 tickets, one of which is free. (It is for your group to decide who receives the free ticket; e.g. it could be the leader or one of the young people.)

●  If you are staying overnight at accommodation arranged by RawFfest, staff must have a current DBS, checked by your organisation. You must supply us with the DBS reference number.

What if we are a group and we are all aged 18 to 25 years?

If you want to book for the accommodation, you will still need to identify a designated leader who we will liaise with and will take responsibility for the group. However, there will not be a free place, because you are not in loco parentis for younger festival participants.

What if I am an individual and want to come to the festival?

You are welcome to buy a full weekend ticket or day tickets. We cannot offer residential places to people under the age of 18 if you are not part of a group.  If you are over 18 and want accommodation, you can buy a weekend ticket with accommodation and basic accommodation will be allocated to you closer to the festival.  Accommodation will normally be a single or bunk bed in a shared single-sex room or dormitory.  If you are travelling with friends please  and let us know who is in your party so that, so far as is possible, you’ll be sharing rooms with people you know.

Reduced price tickets

Even though these tickets are great value for money, we know that some young people may still find this expensive. We are grateful that some of our funders have enabled us to offer a limited number of reduced price or free places.  For more information and how to apply, click here.

Accommodation

Feedback from 2016 shows that staying overnight throughout the festival contributed hugely to their enjoyment.  We are currently in the process of negotiating budget accommodation with hotels and hostels in Llandudno.  We anticipate that the accommodation we will offer will be a single or bunk bed in a shared single-sex room or dormitory. Accommodation will be allocated nearer to the festival.   If you are coming with friends please and let us know who is in your party so that, so far as is possible, you’ll be sharing rooms with people you know.

Food

We will provide you with lunch and dinner such as baked potatoes with fillings, curry and rice, sandwiches etc. Please tell us about any allergies or dietary needs when you book.  You will need to provide your own breakfast if staying in the accommodation.

Alcohol

No alcohol is allowed in bedrooms booked through RawFfest. If you are 18 or over, you will be able to purchase alcohol from the bar at the venue, if you have appropriate ID. Please be considerate of the under 18 year olds at the festival.

Travel

You are responsible for all travel costs to come to the festival.

Access

RawFfest aims to be accessible and welcoming to all and we are committed to making your experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.  Please tell us about any specific access needs (e.g. interpreters, large print etc) when you book.

Parking

Venue Cymru operates a Pay and Display car park at the rear of the building, with designated disabled parking bays to the left of the main entrance. Parking is also available on the Promenade which is also Pay and Display until 4pm, after which it is free of charge.
